yet again
Finally my last blood result is in and everything is OK, will be faxing it over to the clinic tomorrow morning and then it's a waiting game to find out when we're to get started on our first (and hopefully only) IVF cycle

typical
What will it take for these idiots to get it right
At long last my Chromosome/Karyotype and Cystic Fibrosis bloods are on their way to the lab, only problem is I have no idea how long they are going to take to get the results back. Typical!

yet more tests
Well I went for the bloods this morning at 08:30 only to be told that one of the nurses had called in sick, so they were trying to cancel as many as possible, so I told them that I needed to be done today, then I was told to come back in 1/2 hr as the other nurse would not be starting until then, so I do and she turns in late
I get called in first, she can't find which sample colour to use for the Chromosome/karyotype and Cystic fibrosis blood samples, so she ops for gold
and tells me that if that is not correct then I'll have to contact my GP and get him to sort it out
This could takes weeks for a Dr's appointment
after she's taken the bloods the student nurse with her finds the Chromosome on the sheet - gold, but the CF is green - and guess what they don't stock green sample bottles
the nurse checked back on my previous bloods and both tests were requested, but the labs never tested them, so now I have to wait and see if they do do the test before I can contact the Dr
Then I go to reception to see about the blood results that were in on Friday - low and behold, they were not my results from last week, but copies of my CD2 bloods that I have already got
This is now getting beyond a joke, we're in the middle of March and I'm still waiting for tests to be completed
Sorry for the rant, but being messed about so much is starting to get to me now

another appointment
Well things got off to a tricky start with all the trains going all over the place and I was stuck at Doncaster station with G stuck at our home station, with all his trains being cancelled, so he had to drive in and park up before joining me on the train up to Darlo. As a result we got to Darlo clinic 15 mins late.
Anyway the clinic are going to give us a chance to do the egg-share IVF. We have signed all the papers and the only thing that we need to get sorted out is my blood group and my CMV results as Sheffield clinic seem to have lost those results, so I need to speak to my GP to see if my results are still available from last year, if not I need to get tested again, as soon as they come back, we can get started.
The clinic have said that if I don't respond to stimulation (I get less than 8 follies) then they will stop the treatment and we can only continue if we pay for it, but if I get 8 or more follies and at the time of egg collection we get less than 8 eggs, then the clinic will pay for the IVF treatment and we get to keep all the eggs ourselves, but if there are more than 8 eggs then we do the egg share. Initially they said that we could expect to be waiting up to 3 months for the sperm, but then said that if my CMV came back +ive then it could be weeks or even days before we get started.
